He’s a people person
Matt knows everyone has a story to tell. Matt has a talent for finding the spark to a story, what an audience will connect with. It starts by listening and understanding who you are and what you have to say. Matt’s interest in others, hearing other perspectives, gives him a unique ability to tell great stories.
He knows all sides of creating cultural experiences
While the basis of a great project is telling a story, the long-term success lies in effective planning and execution. Matt has a firm understanding of the business needs of cultural organizations. He understands that a successful experience is part of a broader strategy. His ability to effectively lead complex projects --managing budgets, prioritizing tasks and coordinating schedules -- helps his projects consistently come in on time and on budget.
He hits the ground running
When Matt works on a project, he is there throughout the project from start to finish. Starting with the charette he will lead a process to define the project. He’ll dig deep to get to the core of what you want to accomplish and the way to reach that goal. The result of this intensive process is a clearly defined theme statement of the product and a road map of how to make it a success. Matt will be there every step of the way.
He knows how to find what’s special in organizations
Working for an organization such as NASA provides unique opportunities and challenges. BRC had to overcome the challenge of inspiring a younger generation of visitors who were born long after man walked on the moon. In trying to reach these audience members, Matt turned to some of the younger NASA scientists and engineers to gather new insight about NASA. The resulting presentation, Exploration Space: Explorers Wanted, opened new doors and the project is reaching that new audience.
He has a talent for theater
Matt’s background grounded him in the fundamentals of telling stories for a live audience. He understands that storytelling is a common connection between all cultures. From a classic play to an immersive experience, engaging an audience grows out of an emotional connection. Throughout production, Matt looks for ways to strengthen that connection, to build richer experiences that have a lasting impact.
