He knows how to entertain an audience
Brad Shelton has a knack for telling stories. He gravitated to theatre from an early age and has acted, directed and produced theatre and film from his native Eastern Tennessee to New York City to Cairo and beyond. All of this has been driven by his desire and ability to touch the lives of individual audience members. When Brad came to BRC he recognized that immersive entertainment experiences offer another level of engagement. An opportunity to move audiences viscerally. He’s never looked back.
He knows how to work collaboratively
When you work with Brad on a project you’ll know from the beginning that you have an ally who’s committed to making your vision come to life. It starts as he leads the charette, BRC’s intensive two-day process to define a project’s scope. Brad does the heavy lifting before a charette to insure the right people are in the room. This means doing extensive research, understanding the culture of the location, and making sure everyone involved understands the challenge. His focus during this process will be to help you identify and articulate your goals as a client, and to formulate a theme statement that reflects those goals.
He’s impossible not to like
Brad’s great sense of humor helps people feel at ease. When you work with Brad, you’ll quickly see his upbeat personality is infectious. This helps him be a great ringmaster for a charette. When you spend two days with a group of people trying to define a project, you want someone with a positive spirit leading the way. Brad takes a theatrical approach to a charette. It’s a show in which he’s helping the audience find the story. Everyone in the room is engaged and free to express themselves. This approach is exciting because it leads to surprising discoveries and innovative solutions.
He understands the business of making great experiences
Brad thinks big when he takes on a new project. He looks at it from all angles and comes up with bold and innovative ways to tell a story. He also understands the business world, his extensive producing experience has helped him know how to create successful audience experiences on time and on budget. Coming out of the charette process he defines a realistic and achievable plan and works with his team to make your vision come to life.
He knows story structure
Successful entertainment experiences are based in strong storytelling. Brad’s broad experiences working in theatre and film have grounded him in the essence of telling stories. From the beginning Brad looks for the ingredients that that will make your project resonate with audiences. Brad has a genuine interest in finding the stories that will make your project come to life and stay with the guest long after they leave. Projects at BRC are long-term relationships, the projects relationship with its audience should be the same.
